Fabulux or Lexi as she is affectionately called around the barn has been all that we dreamed of and more when doing this cross. Basically born broke to handle Lexi has been a pleasure since day one and continues to be the most willing and easy going horse in the barn. Bred to be a top performer Lexi has already gained respect from many breeders, judges, trainers and even caught the eye of an Olympic dressage rider. Lexi as a nice swinging walk with great overstep from the hind legs and with her suspended and powerful trot you can't take your eyes off her. Lexi has a canter that most dressage riders dream of, uphill, round and naturally balanced.
Lexi has a pedigree that boasts the top of the top when it comes to dressage breeding.
Her sire, Fabuleux, is one of the most important dressage sires in the US right now. Fabuleux was 100 day tested in 2000 and gained scores of 9 for walk, 9 for trot, and 10 for his canter. He also earned 9 for temperament and 9 for willingness to work.
After his licensing in Verden Fabuleux was purchased by leading international dressage stable, Gestüt Hoeftehof, where he competed successfully with rider Holga Finken as a three year old in large open German riding horse competitions. He was Champion of the Gottingen Riding Horse Championships with a score of 8.7. At the prestigious Norten-Hardenberg show he was awarded Reserve Champion Three Year Old.
Fabuleux comes from the world class cross of Fabriano x Auguste.
Dr. Wilkens, managing director of the VhW, calls Fabriano one of the best performance horse producers of Hannovers breeding program today. Fabriano passes on to his progeny elasticity, very good gaits, jumping ability and rideability together with a very good character.
Fabuleuxs dam, SPS Auguste (Augustinus xx/Absatz), full sister to licensed stallion Aquamarin, was an immensely successful broodmare and producer of four States Premium mares and two licensed stallions. She represents six generations of SPS mares. Her offspring have in turn produced States Premium mares and successful German sport horses.
Lexi's dam sire ,Winterprinz, is also a very successful dressage producer and competitor. Winterprinz is a son of the outstanding stallion Warkant and his dam was a states premium mare who was awarded Champion 3 year old mare of Germany. In 2002 Warkant was named stallion the year and the designated action trotter for the Hanoverian Verband at Cell.Winterprinz received his elite status and breeding license at Medigan, Germany. Following his 100 day testing, Winterprinz was awarded with first place in dressage achieving top scores in temperament, rideability, character and gaits.Winterprinz is currently showing Grand Prix.
Fabulux show highlights:
*At two years old Lexi earned a high score of %79.5 at the LA breeders classic and was Reserve Champion of her class.
*Lexi started the 2009 season with a bang... Winning the 3 year old Division with an impressive score of 85.3% and then taking Reserve Champion in the Championship class. Lexi was presented to the Hanoverian inspectors in 2009 and became an Elite Mare candidate.
*The 2010 show season is off to a big start with a score of %83.
* February 2011 brought our debut undersaddle and Lexi couldn't have impressed us more. Her first outing resulted in two blue ribbons and the HIGHEST score of the entire show.. 70.7%.
* Fabulux went to her second Yarra Yarra show and brought home a score of 68% and %72 in the open division.
* Fabulux and Caitlin Casey bring home two blues and scores of 72 and 77.8%! In her first 4 shows they are qualified for CDS and UDSF Championships and have been high score twice!
