Greta was imported to the US after she had winning competitions at 1.40 meter in Germany. While in Germany Greta was also presented to the Holsteiner verband and was graded a premium mare.
After being imported to the US Greta competed through level 6 and proved to be a winner in the hunter divisions. Greta is very bold to fences and has a natural push and power from behind that many horses have to be taught. With her scope and willingness we are not surprised at the success this girl has had on circuit.
Greta is a very sweet and easy going mare. Handled by total beginners Greta always keeps her manners and takes all things in without being spooky or hot.We consider ourselves very lucky to have a mare with such an outstanding show record and super mind.
Her sire Gaspari is a son of Grundyman and out of the legendary Holsteiner mare Texas. The Mare Texas has produced 5 licensed stallions including the #1 dressage producing stallion Flemmingh. This damline is key to building top level sporthorses.
Her damsire is the foundation Holsteiner stallion Capitol I.
Capitol has made his mark in producing showjumpers as well as top stallions- currently over 40 licensed sons. Capitol is a rare find in Holsteiner breeding- he carries no Cor de or Landgraf blood!

On the tail female line we find the Holsteiner stallion Fabulus. Fabulus is a direct son of one of the original foundation sires for Holstein- Fax I. Fax I is also the sire of the superb sporthorse producer Farn.
Greta attended the Hanoverian Keuring at Star Vaughn in 2009 and was awarded CHAMPION non-Hanoverian mare. The inspectors had wonderful things to say about her and commented on how it was " hard to believe this mare was 17" . Greta was given a 9 for her head, 8 for her forelegs and 8 for Overall Impression. We have applied to see if she can be part of the Jumper Breeder Program for Hanoverians.
